INTRODUCTION

AJOD Insurance Limited was set up under the Insurance Act of 1992 (2049 B.S.). Getting license and approval from Insurance Board of Nepal (Beema Samiti), it was formally established in 2008 (2064 B.S.) and officially started its operation from 21st Ashadh 2075 (5th July, 2018).

The Company is founded and supported by leading commercial bank, bankers and highly fervid professionals having successful career history from various fields viz government/non-government (Civil Servants/Armed forces) sectors, hydropower, supermarkets, real estate, reputed trading houses and also diplomacy. Therefore, AJOD enjoys a firm backdrop and amalgamation from Nepal's Intellectuals to financiers with an active involvement for its nourishment to flourishment. Furthermore, the company has managed to meet competition and is moving in forward direction to grasp the growing market within a very short span of time from its inception by pursuing a policy of aggressive marketing, prompt service delivery and result oriented action, notably, keeping the standard at the highest possible level.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES

1. PROPERTY INSURANCE

A Property Insurance Policy is a comprehensive policy which covers property loss or damage due to human and natural risks such as Fire and Lightning, Earthquake, Landslide/Rockslide, Storm/Hurricane, Flood and Inundation, Aircraft Damage, Impact Damage, Explosion/Implosion, Riot, Strike Damage, Malicious Damage, Sabotage and Terrorism and all kinds of natural calamities.

2. MARINE/TRANSIT CARGO INSURANCE

Marine Insurance covers the goods being transported by sea or air against the loss from stranding, sinking, fire, collision, heavy weather and damage of land/sea/air cargo terminals, and any transport or cargo by which the property is transferred, acquired, or held between the points of origin and the final destination.

3. MOTOR / VEHICLE INSURANCE

Motor/Vehicle Insurance, also called Automotive Insurance proposes to cover against comprehensive risks. The motor insurance policy covers the insured vehicles for loss or damage by various accidents.  It also covers bodily injury to Third Party and damage to property of third party caused by the accident of insured vehicles.  The policy can also be extended to cover the loss or damage by Riot/Strike/Damage.

We shall provide the same scale of No Claim Bonus and other Discount/Benefit on transfer of insurance to us, if it is already insured by you.

 4. ENGINEERING INSURANCE

Engineering Insurance refers to the insurance that provides economic safeguard to the risks faced by the ongoing construction/erection project, installation project, planning, designing, testing, commissioning and machines and equipment in project operation. It provides a very broad coverage for the damage to the insured properly due to engineering risks.

The major Engineering Insurance policies are as follows:

  • Contractor All Risk Insurance (CAR)
  • Erection All Risk Insurance (EAR)
  • Marine cum Erection All Risk Insurance
  • Contractor's Plant and Machinery Insurance (CPM)
  • Machinery Breakdown Insurance
  • Electronic Equipment Insurance

5. AVIATION INSURANCE

Aviation Insurance provides coverage for hull losses and as well as liability for passenger injuries, environmental and third-party damage caused by aircraft accidents. This policy helps to protect the owners and the operators of an airplane from the damage in the event of a crash. Aviation Insurance are as follows:

  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Combined Single Limit (CSL)
  • Liability Insurance
  • Risk Hull Insurance not in motion
  • Risk Hull Insurance (Taxiing i.e. of an aircraft move slowly along the ground before take-off or after landing.)
  • Flight Insurance.

6. AGRICULTURE INSURANCE (CATTLE & CROPS)

Agriculture Insurance provides insurance coverage for various agricultural activities like Livestock, Poultry, Fish, Crops and Fruits and so forth. Farming against the risks of fire and natural calamities (earthquake, flood, landslide and storm) and disease. This policy particularly supports to low-income farmers and their communities and also encourages the greater investment in the field of crops.

7. MICRO INSURANCE

Micro Insurance is the protection of low-income people against specific perils in exchange of regular premium payment proportionate to the likelihood and cost of the risks involved. In Nepal following Micro- Insurance are available:
